As it stands now, Tim Tebow is the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, at least going into training camp later this year. However, even as John Elway (Bronco’s team president) made the statement, he seem to do so reluctantly. Mind you, this was only Tebow’s second pro season and I think he did well, better than some that become great quarterbacks. But Tebow is different than Elway, and maybe that is the problem for Elway. He wants another version of himself. But he needs to let Tebow be Tebow. I believe Tebow can be a great quarterback. I liked him when he was a Gator. Elway should remember that in his early NFL career, he was not a standout quarterback. He had to work and earn that. Tebow can do the same.

steelerscardsWell, the Super Bowl has been set now. It will be the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a Steeler fan, I am so psyched! The games today were both very good, but the Ravens-Steelers game was fabulous! The Ravens were not as good as I expected them to be, but they were not horrible. And of course, Big Ben was great! And Troy Polumalu’s interception and TD was the highlight of the game. And of course, in the first game, Larry Fitzgerald was unbelieveable. 3 TDs in the first half. If both teams play as well in 2 weeks as they did today, it will be a great Super Bowl! GO STEELERS!!!

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

This is the game I am looking forward to the most today. I love the Steelers! The Ravens and the Steelers are really 2 very dominant teams in the league. Both have good offenses and defenses. The Ravens have a rookie quarterback, Joe Flaco, who has had an unbelieveable season. The Steelers have Big Ben, who has battled some injuries, but has also had a great season. The Steelers also have Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Willie Parker. The Ravens have Ray Lewis and the Steelers have Troy Polamalu and James Harrison. The Steelers have won both games these teams played against each other this season so far.

I have 2 predictions:
First, whoever wins this wins the Super Bowl
Second, Steelers win! Yeah!

donovanmcnabbOn Sunday, Coach Andy Reid benched Quarterback Donovan McNabb after a disastrous first half versus the Baltimore Ravens.

McNabb was 8-for-18 for 59 yards with two interceptions and a fumble in the first half against Baltimore

And the week before he threw 3 interceptions and had a fumble. However, Andy Reid put back up Kevin Kolb in on Sunday, and he did not do any better. The Eagles were trampled on by the Ravens, 36 – 7. Was it the right decision to bench McNabb? It did not change the outcome of the game, unless McNabb could have gotten his second wind, but it is doubtful, since he has been playing this way quite a bit lately. On Thanksgiving, he will be given a second chance. Andy Reid said:

“Donovan is the quarterback. I don’t want to leave here until you understand that,” coach Andy Reid emphasized at his news conference Monday. “Donovan is the quarterback for this football team.”

And it seems like because of one benching, the talk of Donovan leaving Philly has resurfaced. He has a
multi-million dollar contract that runs thru 2013, so it is doubtful that he is actually going anywhere. And people need to remember, it is not just McNabb’s fault that they have been losing. There are other players on the team who need to step up and play better as well. It is funny how if a team loses, it is the Quarterbacks fault. If they win, it is the Team’s fault. Kind of a double standard, huh?

Well, Thursday he will be the starting quarterback again for Philly. They are playing the Arizona Cardinals in Philly, which is good for the Eagles. But the Cardinals have been tough this year. But I am guessing that with all that happened this week, the Eagles might be motivated to bring home a win for Thanksgiving. We will see!

By now you know that the Packers have traded Brett Favre to the NY Jets. This should end all of the controversy, shouldn’t it? Probably not, since it will now cause an issue with Chad Pennington, who said a week ago that he was the starter and not worried about Favre going to the Jets. I still believe he should have stayed retired. He left on a relatively high note, but now, he could get hurt or have another bad year like he has in the past. And now when he retires, it will not be as a Packer, where all of his records are. It will be as a NY Jet. And he has burned his bridges with the Packers, which means that they probably would not taken him back to retire as a Packer. I personally think it is a bad situation all around.

What do you think?

Today was the day. Brett Favre faxed in his reinstatement papers. Now, the Packers have 24 to decide what to do. The options? Put him on the roster; Release him; Trade him

I am not sure what they are going to do. Rumors are running rampant. One I heard said that the Packers contacted like 20 teams and no one was interested in a trade. And the Packers have stated that Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback in Green Bay. And Packers Teneral Manager Ted Thompson has stated that the Packers have no intention of releasing Favre. When Brett did not show up to training camp after stating he would, I figured he was going to stay retired. Not just because I am a Bears fan, but I think this is a bad move for him. What if he gets hurt or makes a bad showing (and ends his career as a back-up quarterback)? He retired on a good note, having a good season last year. Now this all overshadows it. Now, if he gets traded, he will not retire as a Green Bay Packer, either. Which is the team he has been on for most of his career, where he has all of his records and awards.

Please don’t tell me you are surprised by this news. He took several years to decide this, and just when it looked like he was retired (after, he held a news conference and SAID he was retiring), he decides he wants to play again. But apparently the Packers don’t want to use him, so he wants to be released. I am sure that there are teams who will try to grab him. But, has he really thought this through? He is apt to get hurt now, and that alone will ruin his record for continuous starts. And what if he gets really hurt? And does he not care about anyone but himself? What about Aaron Rodgers, who probably actually believed he was THE quarterback for the Packers. Rumors are that he wants to go to Minnesota. According to SI.com, the Packers GM and Coach said he could return as Aaron Rodgers backup. Interesting!

OK, say people are responsive to his desire to play. Who would he play for? Here are some possibilities:

Baltimore Ravens
Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers
Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions
Houston Texans
Minnesota Vikings
New York Jets
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Washington Redskins
