All good things must come to an end, I guess. Today, the last game ever will played at Yankee Stadium, Yankee Stadium has been a landmark, a piece of history. Those who have been will probably never forget. Yankee fans are quite loyal, too. Tonight’s game will have a pregame ceremony that includes some of the greatest Yankees that ever played, such as Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson and Bernie Williams. It will be a bittersweet night for all of them, but it is not the end of the Yankees by any means. Even though they may or may not make the playoffs – they will be back next season. And they will have a new Yankee Stadium, scheduled to open on April 16, 2009. It will be the second most expensive stadium ever built (right behind Wembley Stadium in London). Of course there are people opposed to the new stadium, but the current Yankee Stadium is crumbling, falling apart. Most teams have built new stadiums. While those and any new ones may not be as rich in history as Yankee Stadium, all good things must come to an end. And the new stadium is supposed to be spectacular. Only time will tell.
